Women's and Gender Studies Faculty

The faculty in ÁùºÏζÂÛ̳’s Department of Women’s and Gender Studies are leading scholars in their fields. Faculty research and teaching are intersectional, considering gender in the contexts of race, class, religion, disability, sexuality, and citizenship, among other categories of identity. Their interests include gender-based violence; film, internet, and technology studies; social activism in St. Louis and beyond; law and policy; motherhood studies; global and transnational feminism; the history of women in the US; sexuality studies; gender and healthcare; poverty; and gender, law, and policy.

Secondary Faculty

Faculty with secondary appointments in the Department of Women's and Gender Studies serve three-year terms and are able to renew their appointments. Faculty are selected based on their teaching, scholarship and commitment to students and the department.

Emeritus Faculty

Advisory Board

The Women's and Gender Studies Advisory board is comprised of volunteered faculty and staff members from with in the WGS-affiliated community. They serve two-year terms and are able to renew their appointments.

Faculty are selected based on their teaching, scholarship and commitment to students and the department. Advisory board members help approve policy changes in the department, keep us informed about what is happening across the university, give us advice, and serve as advocates for women's and gender studies in whatever forums they find themselves.
